Website Design & Development
How’s your website looking?
Does it truly represent you and your firm in 2022? Did it ever?
The old joke was that on the internet, nobody knew if you were a dog. That may be true, but it’s definitely true that on the internet, everybody knows if your website is a dog.
Of course, most professionals today realize that websites are not “set-it-and-forget-it” marketing projects that rarely need monitoring or updating. Websites are better understood to be ongoing projects. In other words, your website isn’t the toolshed in your backyard that can last for a generation or more. It’s probably better understood to be your vegetable garden, which needs continual effort and regular maintenance if you want it to produce nice things. Like carrots and cucumbers. Or clients.
OK, sure: Your website probably doesn’t need daily waterings. But the reality is that it should be considered the hub of your online presence, which means that it does need ongoing TLC.
And, of course, in the Age of Covid, your online presence has taken on an even greater importance. Looking further ahead, that’s not likely to change, even when Covid-19 is a distant memory.
To sum things up, your website needs to be much more than just a generic online brochure, and especially not one that screams 1999 or 2009. That would be as useless today as an old Yellow Pages ad. Instead, think of your website as a living, breathing version of you. The design, the copy and the overall branding and messaging need to speak to your potential clients. In marketing speak, all the elements of your website need to resonate with your target market.
With that in mind, take a look at your current website. What’s the overall message that you’re sending? Is it all about you and what you do? Your education and experience? Or is it about your potential clients and their concerns? Yes, they want to know about you, of course, but most importantly, they want to know what you’re going to do for them. How are you going to make them feel through the process? How responsive will you be to their questions? Their phone calls?
At NCG, we’ll work with you to develop a website that reflects who you are and communicates the messaging that you want to convey, and that your potential clients want to hear. It could be a fairly simple site, or it might be much more complex. What’s most important is that it aligns with who you are, it speaks to your prospective clients, and it meets your timeframe and budget.
Above all, rest assured that NCG will manage the process and provide strategic guidance and design expertise every step of the way to ensure that you’re not left on your own to navigate through such a critical project.
